Sunday 19th May

This workshop is focusing on Monologues (a long speech by one actor in a play or film, or as part of a theatrical or broadcast programme)

We will be working with the attendees helping them build up the character, all the little details behind the character, that the monologue doesn't show, allowing them to build empathy with the character. Working in depth on the characters physicality, their speech, and the personal traits the character may have.

We will then provide each actor/actress with a monologues and help each of them break it down working on the emotional behind each sentence. Finding variety within the monologue to help keep the audience engaged throughout.

We will work on emphasising words, which words are and aren't right to emphasise.

We will play a few acting games based on improvisation.

Final showcase of the monologues they have worked on in the workshop.

    Brief overview...

  • Character building
  • How to break down a monologue
  • Emotion behind sentences
  • Industry games
  • Word emphasising
  • Showcasing what has been learnt

In order to maximise the learning potential of the attendees, we have divided each session into age specific groups. Training specific to each age group will help develop their craft, better understand the audition process and to aid their personal development and techniques for securing work.

This will be a great opportunity to work with the team at Signature and for us to provide you specific one to one advice and feedback. In addition, we will have an additional session, where we will have speak with the parents on regarding maximising your opportunities within the industry.

We look forward to seeing you again.
